The TSV 1860 was a founding member of the German Bundesliga in the year 1963 and became German champion in 1966. They won the German pokal in 1942 and 1964. In 1965 they played the finals of the European Champions Club Cup versus West Ham United, which was lost 0:2 in front of 100.000 viewers at the Wembley-Stadium in London. In the recent past the TSV 1860 became German Indoor Champion in the year 1996. In 1999 they qualified for Champions League, where they failed to beat Leeds United, who played later in the semi-final.

Actually the club plays in the 2. Deutsche Bundesliga. The home matches are played in the Allianz-Arena in Munich with a capacity for 71.000 fans. The Club is especially known for his excellent youth academy, which blossomed into national players like Sven and Lars Bender.

Even though the TSV 1860 is mainly know as a soccer club, they also have many more departments with other sportive success. For example athletes of TSV 1860 won Olympic gold 3 times and hundreds of German titles.
